di bostoner klezmer

Brian Bender

plays trombone, melodica, dumbeck, keys.  A sought-after performer, he plays jazz, reggae, Celtic, and contradance, in addition to klezmer music.  He has played in both Israel and Egypt & at Bill Clinton’s Presidential inauguration. A popular former staffer at KlezKamp, and a graduate of New England Conservatory, he now has a full teaching schedule.
Dobe (Dena) Ressler

is the bandleader and clarinetist.  She’s on the staff at KlezKamp, has taught at New England Conservatory’s  summer Klezmer Institute, and has presented a seminar  on klezmer history.  She’s played with world class klezmorium and occasionally reviews Yiddish music in both English and Yiddish.

Founded in 1997 C.E.,
di bostoner klezmer plays authentic, dynamic European klezmer music - the stuff played in Europe in the 19th century, as well as compositions newly composed by band members.
They also play Hasidic, Israeli - and yes, swing (jazz).  The trio is often augmented for weddings and concerts with drums, bass, even banjo!
Missing -- our accordionist!  He & his wife recently had twins, so in the meantime, we invite experienced pinch hitters to play the squeeze box.
